Google ha anunciado que dejara de ofrecer la API de traducción en diciembre de este año. La razon aducida es el abuso, lo cual le esta obligando a aportar numerosos recursos a una facilidad de la que apenas recibe retorno economico o de publicidad.

Lo explica en la web de la API:

Due to the substantial economic burden caused by extensive abuse, the number of requests you may make per day will be limited and the API will be shut off completely on December 1, 2011. Esto hundirá numerosos proyectos basados en dicha API de Traducción e inutilizará cientos de aplicaciones (muchas de ellas de Android).

El gran problema para todas estas aplicaciones sera encontrar una alternativa antes de dicha fecha.
